Day 16 - I think - Flagstaff AZ

Yesterday was a very nice, relaxing day. Just what I needed the day after the race.
When I woke up I was sore, but I knew it wasn't nearly as bad as it could be. I walked funny all day - and still am - but it's all good.
We took our time packing and leaving the Phoenix hotel. We checked out around 11:45 and went to lunch. I was still dying for that steak - so we went to a Lone Star Steakhouse. It wasn't the greatest, but that steak was JUST what I needed.
We drove to Flagstaff, stopping to get a root beer float on the way. We got to our hotel in Flagstaff around 3:30 and immediately went swimming. It was funny though - we left Phoenix in shorts, riding with the windows down and sweating - got to Flagstaff and were FREEZING. There is snow all over the place here!! It's supposed to be in the 50s today though. Better than the 20s back in NY!!
The freezing cold pool followed by the jacuzzi did wonders for my sore legs. I stretched a lot too. Daniel got a boo-boo on his face and was crying and ended up falling asleep. So Don stayed with him & Patrick and I went to find some dinner. There wasn't much to choose from so we ended up with Wendys. Patrick fell asleep as soon as he finished his last chicken nugget. So it was an early night for all the boys. Me? I stayed up doing load after load of laundry and sorting through all this stuff we have accumulated!!! I realized I really need to get more postcards written & mailed!!!!
We are going to the meteor crater today and then to the Grand Canyon Railway hotel. We have a dinner there tonight, breakfast there in the AM and then we get on a train to go to the canyon. We stay overnight in the park tomorrow night at the Maswick Lodge and have a bus rim tour. Then we come back to the Grand Canyon Railway hotel on the train and have another dinner and breakfast. Then.... we head HOME. It's hard to believe we've been gone over two weeks and are still another week and a half away from being home.
OK - going to get some breakfast and start repacking all this clean laundry!!
