Day 12 of Cross-Country Trip

Well - we made it to Phoenix. It wasn't quite the short, relaxing day we thought we'd have - but it was all good. We left Barstow and went down to Joshua Tree National Park. There is NOTHING there - except Joshua trees and big rocks. We headed east (finally) toward Phoenix and arrived around 6:30. We went straight to the convention center to pick up my packet. Then to the hotel where we completely overwhelmed the bellboys. We ran into the Staten Island coach and the only guy from Staten Island who's running. He is also doing the half-marathon like me. We checked in, went to our room, and the boys fell asleep almost immediately. There are SO many runners here - I can't believe it! The weather is beautiful and the area is very nice (at least during the daytime). I can't believe that 2 days from now it'll all be over and done.
