Day 2 of Cross Country Trip part 2

We didn't run into any more rain once we got into Illinois - and though we had to make one more stop we made it to Saint Louis in great time. The closer we got the more excited we all got. It was funny driving across the Mississippi River - I couldn't tell who was the most excited... Don, me or the boys!! Daniel gave us a very rousing version of a Miles the Goose song... "Big red truck rollin down the road... rollin rollin rollin rollin" for about 15 minutes. It was ADORABLE. So we all arrived with big smiles.

We checked into the Hampton Inn downtown St Louis at the Arch. It's great. They are doing some renovating - but the location can't be beat. We are RIGHT beside the arch. We are on the 10th floor and our room looks out at the arch. The St Louis Riverfront Landing is right out our back door. There are tons of things to see and do within walking distance. Now let's hope that the weather cooperates tomorrow. We have tickets to ride the tram to the top of the arch and to see a Louis & Clark movie at a museum.

After we got some dinner we had to take the boys down to the pool. Enter the bad part of the renovating hotel... the jacuzzi was empty and closed. The indoor HEATED pool was absolutely FREEZING. I used to swim on swim team outdoors in the summer and have been in some pretty cold water to swim laps. I made one lap and went running out of the pool for my towel. It was frigid. The boys got their feet wet. Kinda disappointing. There IS a game room though!! :)

OK - everyone else is already asleep. I should go join them. Tomorrow is a nice, relaxing sightseeing day here in St Louis - NO DRIVING!! Hooray!!!

Good night!!
