Day 3 of Cross-Country Trip -- Saint Louis, MO

We had a late start this morning as ALL of us slept well and no one wanted to get up. It was nice to know we didn't have to get into the car and drive anywhere!

We ate breakfast at our hotel and then went to the arch... or should I say the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. We took the tram to the top, looked around, took pictures, then took the tram back down to the bottom. Then we watched a 45 minute big screen movie of Lewis & Clark. The boys did well and I really liked most of the movie. Then we went into the Museum of Westward Expansion. There is SO much to see in there! We were there quite a while! We also shopped in the two stores. Finally, we decided to brave the cold and walk 18 blocks to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. We were so glad we did that! We saw some amazing sites on the walk. St Louis is a great city! I'd love to come back. By the way - the boys fell asleep the MOMENT we put them in the stroller to walk to the Hard Rock. They also slept through lunch.

After lunch we walked back through Union Station and to the City Museum. What a neat place! It was filled with various forms of art, mazes and slides. There was a 7 story slide!! We all did it - though the boys went with us. We then walked back to our hotel and just crashed. The boys played with their toys and then ate some dinner. Then we got out our "school" stuff and put our state stickers on our US maps. We counted up the states we'd been to already and how many more we'll be going to in the next couple of weeks. Then we just relaxed and now it's bedtime again!

Tomorrow we are driving to Salina, Kansas - just as a stopping point. Then it's off to Dodge City and Colorado Springs. It's so hard to believe in 2 days we'll be in Colorado!

Just now as I was typing - Patrick - who is half awake - says "Mommy - I wish I could go back and climb on the dinosaur back and go down the orange slide." AWWWW! That's from the City Museum! If you are ever in St Louis and you have kids with you - take a couple of hours and go to the City Museum! Apparently that was more of a highlight of Patrick's day than the arch!!

Good night and stay tuned for Day 4!
